Keeping children active is essential for healthy growth, strong muscles, and good posture, especially with more screen time and sedentary habits. At Firefly Pilates in Potters Bar, I work 1:1 with children aged 5–18, offering tailored sessions that are safe, fun, and effective for their growing bodies and minds.

For younger children (5–11), sessions focus on modified mat work with props, building coordination, core strength, and body awareness in a playful way. Older children (12+) progress to mat and apparatus Pilates, helping to improve posture, flexibility, and strength while addressing any movement restrictions or muscular imbalances early.
1:1 Pilates is also a fantastic compliment to the sports and activities your child already enjoys, such as ballet, horse riding, gymnastics, or team sports. The tailored exercises help improve balance, core strength, coordination, and body control, which can enhance performance and reduce the risk of injury.

Pilates is more than exercise—it’s a tool to support healthy development, confidence, and functional movement, making it ideal for children who spend a lot of time on screens or sitting at school. Each session is personalised to the child’s needs, ensuring safe progression and real results.

Pilates also supports children who have difficulties with coordination, focus, or concentration, including those with dyspraxia, ADHD, or similar challenges. The structured, mindful 1:1 sessions help children develop motor planning, improve body awareness, and increase attention to movement, providing both physical and cognitive benefits in a supportive environment.

Book a 1:1 session today to give your child the benefits of Pilates for strength, posture, and healthy growth in a welcoming, supportive environment.
