I'm Sam. Firefly Pilates Studio owner, lover of Pilates Principles, and all things beautifully creative.

Living a healthy, happy life means prioritising what makes your body move better and feel better, no matter your level or age. My aim is to make this accessible to everybody, through safe, effective and fun workouts, so that you can embrace that glowing feeling.

What's Pilates?

Created by Joseph Pilates, it is a system of exercises which helps to connect the mind and body leaving you feeling renewed and energised. At the Firefly Pilates Studio the comprehensive range of Pilates apparatus is ready to help you get the most out of your Practice in each lesson.

“Wild west style of Pilates group classes” intimidates you. You feel unsafe and unsure about crazy exercises expected of you.

You realise your Reformer "Pilates” class isn’t actually real Pilates, instead just exercise on Reformers. What is Pilates then?

The instructors seem very young and inexperienced.

You haven’t a clue how to work the machines. The instructor doesn’t even know your name.

There are so many budget “Pilates” studios offering you deals to fast track you through the door, promising you results you never seem to achieve.

The classes are huge and you’re always on the “Waitlist” so you can’t be consistent with your Practice.

The exercises seem difficult and impossible and leave your muscles with a painfully long recovery time. You pick up injuries.

Some classes seem generic and you get bored.

Classes often only offer one piece of equipment for the class. Like the Reformer, without offering you access to other Pilates Apparatus, which results in gaps in your fitness goals.

Our bodies and minds are unique. That’s why I’ve opted to teach clients privately and small groups of two. Starting from age 5 and onwards to 90 years+. This ensures that you get an individualised plan, set at your level of practice.

During Private and Duet sessions, you get my complete attention, so you’ll be encouraged safely through the Pilates exercises, learning their names and objectives so over time you can learn to be autonomous with your Practice.

As a result, you’ll progress through your Pilates Practice with noticeable results that will positively help you through active daily living so you can live life better!

 The studio has a large selection of Pilates apparatus which will be used to design a program around your personal Pilates Practice.

I offer Duet sessions, which means two clients of a similar fitness level and ability level can work together in one session, in a circuit style class. Each person still gets personalised attention from me and it results in a very fun hour.

Pilates is the best self-care experience. Not only does it strengthen and stretch the body, it requires a level of concentration and mindfulness, breath and awareness. In a Private session you have the quiet to find that focus!

Pilates exercises the entire body instead of spot training individual muscles, helping to achieve vitality. It will strengthen your core, improve your balance and posture, reduce pain, and create a toned physique (alongside healthy lifestyle choices) .

Leaving the best for last, my niche is Injury Rehabilitation. Anyone needing a personal rehabilitative approach to exercise is encouraged to start with Private Pilates Sessions.
